Okay, after yesterdays super depressing post I thought I would at least make this one happier.
And trees in autumn make me VERY happy. I will admit that during this time of year, I kinda missed Pennsylvania and their amazing array of fall colors that became more and more brilliant as the weeks went on. For a short period of time I forgot how much I hated living in the northeast because their trees were by far the best I have ever, ever seen. During fall in Pennsylvania the evening news would have "Foliage Updates" and percentages of how much color the trees have turned so far, and which trees are actually turning colors in what order...similar to how they report when the ski resorts are opening up here in Idaho...they treat their fall foliage serious in the northeast.
However, Idaho has their share of some pretty trees too. The only downside is the color doesn't last very long and by the time I took the pictures you will see below, I realized I was about a week too late. However, within days of taking these pictures a big wind came along and blew all the pretty leaves to the ground. Hello, Winter.
TREES IN AUTUMN
I love these trees! In the spring they have these gorgeous white blossoms, in the summer they are vibrant green, and in the fall they look like this for a couple of weeks before all the leaves turn brown as the temperatures plummet towards freezing and then are bare until the buds appear in late winter with promise that warmer days are indeed ahead. God, I love trees.
This is my maple in my front yard...
All the following photos are taken in and around my subdivision:
When I look at these photos that I snapped around my subdivision I am instantly reminded of why we moved from San Diego to a place with four distinct seasons. Witnessing and experiencing all four seasons here in Idaho has truly been a wonderful thing.
