Where Did The Day Go?
Some days are just like that.
Gone in a flash.
It started with Josh waking up at 1am thinking the clock said 6am (yeah, I don't get it either) and not just waking up but actually showering and coming downstairs before he realized it and put his pjs back on and went back to bed.
Then Harrison pulled out some paperwork that somehow, mysteriously was forgotten over the long 4.5 days off and he had to get it done before school.
Bagel Monday.
Microwave repair guy.
Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.
Dog digging out (she totally does not go far but she comes back with muddy paws that will slowly drive me towards the bottle, I'm convinced).
Religious education.
Trying to finish the book club book that sadly is about the worst book I've read in awhile.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
Talked to Larry a few times.
Had my blog post in my head all day but sadly (well maybe sad for me, not you) it never made it to the screen.
Homework.
Reading.
Doorbell.
Dog barking.
Discussion at dinner about our month of holiday goodness.
Updating the family calendar so we can attempt to stay on top of it all.
Dinner.
Dishes.
Spelling.
Lunches.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
Talked to my dear friend Darcy in San Diego (see Darcy, clean language, just for you!) who thankfully knows that I am not a phone caller even though she tells me to call her anytime, but who regularly calls me to chat! Gotta love such good friends...
Now, the kids are in bed.
I have things to prep before tomorrow.
When we wake up and start all over again...
December first.
Four years ago today we got the keys to this house.
Just mindless trivia.

Hey there...
So I missed a few days of reading and read the last several posts in a row... a little funny to read the joys of Black Friday and then the @#^&*s of Christmas Lights... in the big picture of things, Na, you are doing AMAZING!!!
I think we ALL need to scale back and buy less, do less, run around and busy ourselves less... simplify and actually ENJOY the season! We say we are going to do that every year... and I think we HAVE had less and less stressful holidays over the past few years - but I think many will be doing that this year!
But - more than any of that stuff... you know I want to know what book you are reading?! LOL?!
Praying for you, my friend!

LOL Karri...I know! In fact, when I was composing the post about the lights I realized the (slight) contradiction to my previous post! However, I think that truly states just how up and down my world is from day to day, hour to hour! LOL.
I agree about doing less. I looked over my to-do list from last year and was shocked at how long it was! I was tired all over again. Tonight we simply talked about "fun, simple, low cost" ideas that we want to do like driving around looking at lights, doing crafts just for the fun of it, watching a host of Christmas movies, cutting snowflakes, writing a letter to Santa (despite the giggles from the boys who think I am completely screwing with them about mailing it to the north pole! LOL), baking cookies FOR FUN (not because we have thirty dozen to finish but instead a few dozen to hand out here and there and to eat ourselves), and even making a Christmas-themed poster.
What I wanted to avoid on the list were things we "have" to do that only adds stress! Of course, we have school projects and church functions and school activities we added too, but this year I am striving for SIMPLICITY!
I am reading Lorna Landvik, "Tis The Season" and it is in an email format (what a lazy writer!) and it is really awful. I thought it would be a simple one day read but I have had it on my nightstand since Wednesday and I have NOT been able to pick it up for long. Ugh. Horrible.
