Over the past week I have completed four layouts for October (2008) and three for November. Not a bad start for the middle of June! There are days when I simply don't get a chance to even walk into my office, let alone sit and scrapbook, but that's okay because there have been a couple of days when I can knock out two layouts before I have to go and refill my coffee cup!
I love it because I leave the stuff out and usually before I end for the day I loosely prep the next layout (I have been blessed with kids that have NEVER touched my scrapbook stuff...not even when they were toddlers...so I have none of those problems with leaving things out) so I can come in here at any time and crop photos or play around with pattern paper.
If you remember, my goal for the summer is to complete all of 2008 (almost there and to be fair, I have not ordered December yet. There is something about monthly layouts plus Christmas layouts plus pages for my holiday album that overwhelm me. I will get them ordered soon but for now I will finish November and move onto January by tomorrow!)and half of 2009. I have the photos for January-June already sorted and ready to be scrapbooked.
The layouts are super simple with very little bells and whistles. My goal is to try and use up some of these old embellishments I've had lingering for years (and years!) and let's face it, get them completed so I can move on with more recent photos. I have also not journaled yet on any of the recent layouts (I'd like to get caught up on my journaling, a whole other issue, and then scrapbook and journal at the same time to avoid the horrific pile up of layouts-reqiring-journaling which is what I'm facing now).
(Working on Jennifer's November layout today and will share next week when I cross over into 2009.)
