Okay, so here is basically the final look of everything. I still have some challenges and papers and piles that I need to get to but overall, I can live with the remaining 10% for a little longer. At least with 90% completed I can scrapbook happily on Friday nights again knowing exactly where things are and knowing that everything has a nice, safe home. It isn't totally perfect but the perfectionist in me will let it go, for now.
THE COMPLETED 90%:
Inside the left side of the entertainment center. I added a tote for inks, small totes for other random embellishments and below are all 12 of my monthly tote bags I use for my chronological scrapbooks. Better.
The lower side of the entertainment center on the right. Totes, labeled, full of everything from additional alphabets (all those chipboard, etc.), flowers, and often-used tools like the corner rounder, hole punch, square and circle punches, etc. Next to the red tote are my plastic totes filled with metals, etc.
Ah, my paper. My glorious, happy-inducing paper. It took me all Saturday plus the entire movie of 27 Dresses and the start of another movie to sort and go through all my paper. For the record, that folks is ALL the pattern paper I own (did you hear that Corinna?)...with the only exception being the stacks of pattern paper I have in each of my monthly tote bags for my chronological scrapbooking and inside totes of "unfinished projects". The cardstock is almost all there as well...I only have a relatively small stack in a tote in my closet plus a large stack of 8.5x11 sheets.
I am giddy with this solution!!! Do you see the colors on the tabs?Oh Em Gee. LOVEEE IT! I came up with this idea as I do most ideas: in the shower or as I blow dry my hair. Words take an extra second or two to process, not to mention the challenge of fitting five words on one of those little tabs. So, I asked Jennifer for her crayons and colored the tabs to show the paper in each tote stand. Now, the cardstock is kind of a no-brainer and I realize it appears silly but I did the cardstock just to be uniform with the pattern paper tabs. And, since the pattern papers are sometimes hard to determine exactly WHAT color they are, this helps A LOT. It is fast to go right to the color you want...I know WHERE IN the stack a particular color is, etc. Fabulous. Really. It is THAT great.
And now a look at that dresser and the corner how it looks today. Clean, tidy, and organized. My three favorite food groups. (Side note: I realized I took this photo slightly prematurely...the albums on the floor near the white drawers full of stamps are no longer there but instead on a shelf in the closet. And, on top of the stamps are two large totes for layouts that require journaling.)
I will share with you the remaining 10% as I complete the process and find suitable solutions. And while the closets were completely overhauled and tidied, those pesky 10%ers are residing on the floor of the closet so I'll wait to share both sides of the closet once I feel less ashamed. The closet is definitely better, but not perfect.
