I usually seem to embroider the most when I'm making towels or gifts for other people but I realized recently that my own towels are starting to dwindle...which is actually a good thing because I LOVE using my towels until they are shreds (and then they retire to the towels-used-for-cleaning).
So, after all my Christmas projects were completed I decided to do a couple of towels for myself. The first one I finished had Asian lanterns and it was very quick. Another one I finished in an evening was of a cardinal and now I'm working on a tree depicting all four seasons.
Even the kids got into the embroidery bug. They each asked for me to iron on patterns of their choice, which I did, and they went to town stitching away (beat the boredom of the holiday break). So far only Jennifer finished her towel (a huge squirrel) and I am happily using her towel right now.
Embroidery continues to bring me a calming relaxation. Not to mention a super cheap hobby. I love it and I leave my basket with my pending projects right next to my spot on the couch. I haven't made any hard fast lists of projects I'd like to complete and instead I'm just enjoying the process and work on towels with designs that interest me.
